Bumper repair.

A scraped bumper corner, a split cover and a cover hanging loose should not receive the same estimate. Show the whole front or rear end and the affected corner. Restart can assess the cover, its attachments and any concerns behind it before repair or replacement is discussed.

Start an online estimate

Do not push a loose bumper back into place or remove parts to take estimate photos.

The cover is one part of the decision.

A bumper estimate needs to account for more than the visible scrape. The location of the damage can affect both the repair method and the supporting work.

Scuffs and cracks

Surface paint damage is different from a torn or deformed cover. Material, damage extent and vehicle requirements help determine whether the cover can be repaired.

Mounts and hidden damage

A cover that no longer sits flush can have damaged brackets or attachment points. Inspection may also identify damage to components behind it that an exterior photo cannot show.

Sensors and nearby systems

Some bumpers sit near radar or parking-assistance components. Repair limits and any required checks or calibration must be established for the vehicle and work involved; they are not identical for every bumper.

Compare the same scope.

A quote to refinish a scuff and a quote to replace a cover with damaged mounts describe different jobs. Compare what happens to the cover, attachments, paint, trim and any vehicle-specific sensor checks before comparing the totals. Photos cannot show every part behind the cover.

Repair or replace?

Can a cracked bumper cover be repaired?

It depends on the material, crack location, remaining attachment points and the vehicle’s repair restrictions. A crack near a mount or sensor area may have different limitations from damage elsewhere on the cover.

Will a replacement bumper cover arrive painted?

Do not assume the replacement part includes a finished color match. Ask how the cover will be supplied and whether preparation, refinishing and transfer of trim or other components are included in the estimate.

Can there be damage behind a bumper that looks intact?

Yes. The cover’s appearance cannot establish the condition of everything behind it. Describe the impact and any new gaps, noises or warning messages, even when the exterior mark looks minor.

Start with the whole corner.

Show the entire bumper, affected corner and nearby panel without touching loose parts. Mention new gaps, rattles or parking-system warnings in the request.

This starts a preliminary inquiry. It does not confirm repair scope, final price, vehicle acceptance or an appointment.
